Hydrochlorothiazide (brand names: Apo-Hydro / Aquazide H / Dichlotride / Hydrodiuril / HydroSaluric / Microzide / Oretic / Moduretic / Inderide / Dyazide / Aldactazide / Aldoril), sometimes abbreviated HCT, HCTZ, or HZT is a popular diuretic drug (water pill) that acts by inhibiting the kidney's ability to retain water.
